January Weather and Punctuality
School starts at 8.50am (10 minutes to 9). Please support us by getting your child to school on time.
Attendance – Autumn Term for September to December
This is excellent largely because we are not requesting holidays. Holidays in term time are not allowed and will always be unauthorised. We also send the details in and your family may gain a fine for every child out of school.
New Staff
Mr Clegg and Mr Lindley (Support Teaching Assistants) have been appointed for Year 6 and Year 3 respectively. These are TEMPORARY 2 term contracts made possible by finance surplus funding. Both members of staff are applying for post-graduate teaching courses and therefore wouldn’t be anticipated to stay longer than their two term contract to the end of July 2014.
Clubs After School and Staffing
We usually run clubs from 3.15 – 4.15 after school throughout the year. However, because of the new staffing in school and newly qualified teachers, we want to be able to do vital training during January. This involves planning with the teachers, looking at planning and assessing. I have therefore made the decision to re-start the clubs from Monday 27th January onwards.
I hope that you understand that in order to support your child fully we need to train and support our new teachers and teaching assistants. Thank you.
Reading
We are still ‘on a drive’ to improve reading. Thank you all the families who fill in the reading record and list words in there. If we can help you to help your child with reading at home then please contact us, we are here to help.

Reading Library Challenge during February half-term 14th February to our return on 24th February.
