Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you for your support at the beginning of this new year. Thank you for your understanding with the 5-year electrical testing which is now complete. We missed ours due to Covid. Thank you for using the new footpath and ramp – safety at the front of school is much improved.
Please keep up the reading with your child/children. If you need help with this – ask.
All clubs have started this week. Drama Club will re-start on Thursday 2nd February (not this week 26th January)
You will have seen the news regarding Teaching Union strike action.
Beecroft Primary School will be open throughout as teachers and support staff at our school have unanimously voted NOT to take strike action. Beecroft will be open on 1st February as usual for all teaching, clubs and before and after school childcare. Moving forward we will be open on all the other days announced in the news. Please be assured that this will not change.
Family Assembly: Wednesday 1st February: Coffee Morning afterwards with Friends At Beecroft (FAB)
Attendance and Punctuality:
We are still working hard to keep our attendance high. Please note the traffic light system. I know that the majority of parents give us full support – thankyou. There are too many pupils with attendance in the red zone -below 90% (Persistent absence a government category of concern.) Those parents will be invited to a meeting to discuss the way forward. (Letter in the post) Unless your child is very poorly please get them to school – we will always ring you if there is a concern and would never leave a child suffering and ill in school.
Achievements:
Beecroft has been awarded Silver Arts mark and Gold Arts mark. Our Pupil Art’s Council are planning next steps. Well done to everybody in the school!
Date For Your Diary: Reception Classes Parent Reading Meeting – Wednesday 8th February 3.30pm
Thank you for all we do together to make our school a special place.
Best wishes,
J. Turner
