Dear Parents,
World Book Day is fast approaching, and we want to share the ways that we will be celebrating this annual event at Beecroft.
Every day we celebrate books and literature at Beecroft, so World Book Day is a day of special importance to us, when books and their characters come alive in our classrooms and corridors. To celebrate World Book Day, we are asking children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character or author. Please do not feel you have to buy a costume for the day, there are many simple and creative ideas online. The pupils will have the opportunity to share their creative costume designs with their friends and pupils from across the school.
During the day, the children will enjoy taking part in a range of book-based activities. All classes will visit the library during the day to listen to stories read by the local actor Cathy Breeze. The pupils will also receive a free book that they have chosen as well as a book token. In Nursery and Reception classes the children will be using their creative skills to design and make a potato into a book character.
As always, thank you for your support and we hope to make this World Book Day a day to celebrate our love of reading.
