Half Term Holiday Friday 27 October break up.
Return To School On Tuesday 7th November
Dear Parents/Carers,
At the end of a very successful and busy half-term I have many thanks.
Thanks: Friends At Beecroft (FAB) who presented a cheque for £1,000 in Family Assembly this week. The money goes towards subsidising trips and visits and towards the cost of musical instruments . The first coffee morning was held and was well attended. (All welcome) All parents are automatically a member of FAB to help with events and Family Assembly coffee rotas.
Thanks: To Reception parents for all the work ensuring that children are ready and prepared for school. All the children have settled in well and are into the routines.
Thanks Attendance: Thank you for getting your child to school for 8.30am (doors open 8.20am)
Attendance for the whole school from 1 September to 26 September is 98%. We are justifiably proud of the work we do together.
You will be getting a summary of your child’s attendance for this half term. We aim for all pupils to get 96% and above and to only take time off for illness. We take any persistent absence very seriously (Absence 90% and below) as those pupils do not make progress. (See the 5 point plan) I am pleased that the vast majority of parents give full support and that persistent absence is in the lowest 20% nationally at 2.7%. Any persistent absence percentage, however, is too high. We aim for 0%. There are very rare exceptions where such absence is a result of serious illness. (See policy on web)
Thanks Reading: Please read at least 3 times a week with your child. We love reading. We love our library!
Thanks: Enterprise to raise money for St George’s Crypt. A total from all class enterprises £450. A cheque has been sent Thankyou.
Place2Be: Mental Health intervention and social and emotional wellbeing. Parents have been contacted and individual work has started, If you would like more information and feel it would benefit your child then please contact me. There are drop in sessions at lunchtime and children can self-refer. (see website)
At family assembly all the work of Sports Leaders was presented by the children themselves – including the important friendship stop for those who haven’t got a person to play with that day.
Mindmate Champions Achieved September 2023: Our work on wellbeing and mental health across the whole school has been recognised in this award which was assessed at the beginning of this academic year.
