1st Match, away to Shire Oak @ Lawnswood High School 12th October.
It was an all action start to the season for the U11s team. They attacked from start to finish and racked up a huge 10-0 win. The whole team were fantastic from goalkeeper and defence to midfield and attack. But a special mention goes to man of the match Kyron who scored a record 7 goals.

Return To School On Tuesday 7th November

At the end of a very successful and busy half-term I have many thanks.
After studying the features of the Whitby coast in geography and writing an argument about its second holiday homes in English, Year 5 were able to experience the coastal town through a wonderful overnight residential. Although Storm Babet was drawing upon us, we made sure to wrap up warm in our waterproofs!
Continue readingBeecroft Sport and PE trips have started again this year. Part of the PE dance curriculum for Year 3 is to learn cheerleading! So, on Tuesday they travelled to Morley and became Leeds Rhinos’ Cheerleaders! Year 3 took part in workshops to learn different cheerleading moves and actions. They then joined these together to create a full routine, which they performed to the other schools taking part. A group of children also performed this routine in Family Assembly.

There is plenty of good news, about Beecroft, to pass on to you today. We are proud of our supportive community.
After studying the features of Otley, Year 3 went on a full day trip to explore the town using their mapping skills.
Children were able to observe and identify key features from the ‘Surprise View’ at Otley Chevin. This included quarries, that now contain water and are considered a water source, recreational grounds such as football fields and rural aspects such as farms and fields.
Continue readingBeecroft Primary School had a visit from Rev Andy, the Chaplin at St George’s Crypt. He spoke in our weekly collective worship about the importance of donating to people in need. We have been collecting food as part of our harvest festival and raising money through enterprises to donate to St George’s Crypt. Rev Andy told us a story about when his father-in-law cycled 100 miles. Once his father-in-law completed his 100 miles, he returned to his camp to find that the only food he had was one tin of cold beans. Rev Andy explained that this one tin of beans was the best meal he had ever eaten as he was exhausted and starving. Children learned that it is important to donate what we can as even a small amount can change somebodies’ life.
Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you for helping us to get the new school year off to an excellent start. Attendance excellent so far and thank you for supporting the prompt 8.30am start. We want all pupils to join in our 34.75 hour school week and to do one of the enrichment activities after school(clubs).We have only 20 children left to join a club which is now part of our working school week. There is something for every child to choose and enjoy.
