Dear Parents/Carers,
Arts Day: Today has been an exciting art’s day for all pupils in Key Stage 2 with live performances for the whole school by Back Chat Brass, Children in Key Stage 2 then rotated to do drama, garage band, hand chimes and dance and keyboard. The sessions were thoroughly enjoyed by all children who were very enthusiastic about the day. The day was planned by our Arts Council and Mrs Pickard.
Arts Trail: Four schools. of which Beecroft is one. are creating 400 Anthony Gormley figures which will be put together for Kirkstall Arts Trail – a community event that you will be able to visit on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th July. The 120 sculptures will be displayed at St Stephen’s Primary School in Kirkstall.
National Sports’ Week: Beecroft pupils will do tri golf, mini yoga and ultimate Frisby in school – sports that are not in the PE curriculum. We are also taking part in the Dance Spectacular at Headingley Stadium on 23 June at 7pm. We will be dancing in front of thousands!
Family Assembly: Wednesday 14th June: Nell Bank Y5 and presentation of the science challenge winners. All are welcome. Thank you to FAB for refreshments.
Attendance: 96.6% whole school to date. We have received a top 10% award for schools nationally for each term so far. Keep in the green zone!
Retirement: Mrs Hulme is retiring from Beecroft, on 21 July, after 27 years in the school. 27 years is a real achievement of dedication and service to Beecroft. Her own children attended Beecroft. She keeps our library beautiful and works with parents on attendance and family matters. Of course, she will be very much missed. If you would like to donate to her leaving gift please send cash or cheque in an envelope marked Mrs Hulme. Thank You
