Headteacher’s Update: 24th February 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you for your continued support. Thank you for your feedback on the survey sheets which is very useful in informing future decisions.

We are in difficult times – as you know strike action continues across the country. Whilst no formal voting has taken place, at Beecroft, (correction – letter to parents Feb 2023) our teachers have individually decided not to strike on this occasion. This decision does not mean that we are not in full support of the sentiments around the matter of pay. Demands are more and more and pay has been seriously eroded. It is a hard decision for teachers to take. We, at Beecroft, are fully supportive of any staff who take a decision to strike. As Headteacher, I fully support any staff member who wants to strike.  On 28th February, the next strike day, Beecroft Primary School, will be fully open. We will endeavour to keep the school open, as requested by the government, so that we do not disrupt our pupils’ education.

Family Assembly Wednesday 1 March 9.00: Our Wellbeing Day, guitar group music and coffee afterwards. You can also look at your child’s work until 10am. All are welcome.

World Book Day : Dress Up as a book character or bring in your favourite book. Interactive Stories – Ribbit Key Stage 1 and The Book-Keeper Key Stage 2. Encouraging a love of books is our top priority on the day.

Wednesday 1 March Parent Consultation on-line 2.30-5.30pm (Please note that you can always make an individual appointment at other times to find out about your child’s progress.

Attendance: Whole school 96.8% Thank you for your support. (If your child’s attendance is below 90% and so persistent absence please support your child to get into school every day)

Thank you, for everything you do for your child and our school.

Best wishes,

J. Turner
